I never watch sports but I looked up the scores first thing in the morning and watched the 3 min of highlights Go girls! Good win Considerations Hans But then again it would be the same for me if Belgium and Australia played A win either way

I've always thought Soccer is a crap game...
but I did watch a little bit of the Matildas tonight.
nil - nil draw after 90 mins... plus 30 mins extra time.
Penalty shootout...
Frogs 6 and Matildas 7 YAY !!!!!

Yep. What a thriller....Tho, IMO, the frogs played a lot better throughout the match...Tillies lost a hell of a lot of possession through badly placed passes. No doubt the coach will sort that out after watching upteem replays... Accolades also to the Referees and linesmen (Ladies?) for a sterling job of control..Also to the 4th Official girl on the sidelines for keeping the overbearing coaches in check..

We watched the from 5 minutes of the 1st extra time through to the end, bloody good football, but I've got no nails left Good on you Matildas That Renard lived up to her name and tried to be sly in pulling one of our girls down in the corner kick which resulted in a goal, luckily the ref was on the ball and disallowed the goal Renard in French is Fox in English

Not a footy fan but watched nearly all of it last night. Skillful game played by a group of brillant girls. I also thought the French were the better team, our girls kicking the ball straight to them. Will be watching the last few games.

Watched it from start to finish, my wife nearly fell off the seat a few times. She is quite vocal with sports matches and that is why I would never go to a match with her. But I can't knock avid.

They played the French, and the Australian national hymn before the game, as they should. But have you ever seen the Marseillaise translated to English, it's pretty bloody and savage, maybe OK for an army, but for a sporting event, maybe they should change the wording. Lucky, not many Australians would understand it.

All the shouting makes the dog very anxious.
We thought we might check the full time score, and watched the penalty shootout with the TV on mute, and our emotions well in check.
The Grand-dog even picks up on the daughter's elevated heart rate, if she manages to contain herself.
