Hi Everyone, Some time ago we had issues with some of our blinds not retracting and these were fixed by a Cab. Repair mob some of you would be familiar with. Now we have a 2013 Paramount Vogue caravan which has thus far been wonderful for us. It is not an old van yet not a new one either, so there is some disparity in the models of windows between all our vans. Here is my dilemma, my van has a screen that is stuck closed and I do not know how to fix it without going at it blindly.(pun intended) Nothing wrong with that approach if you have no better information available. So my question is, how do you identify the window to determine a solution? Here is an outside picture This is from the inside Can anyone identify the brand, model etc. so that hopefully I can find a Youtube video explaining the best way to fix it?

NFI muzz but looks like there's some screws behind those little caps there at the bottom of the inside shot That's where I'd start!

Thanks for the replies guys, always appreciated.
These windows are very hard to categorise as they have roller insect screens coming down from the top, and a Silver outside / beige inside privacy screen that rolls out from the bottom. The two latch together so that you can have any degree of privacy with the screens all determined by how far you roll it out from the bottom or the top.
This roller system (just like a Holland Blind top and bottom) is the reason why I just don't want to start taking it apart willy nilly.
So if I cannot find someone with experience around these windows, I might have to have a go like Frank pointed out and start taking it apart as best as I can starting with what looks like screw caps.
I can't see these blind systems being too complex, but some of these brands do like to make something simple into something complex like brain surgery. Anyway I will persevere a bit longer and see if there is any other brains trust to be picked.

Muzz, can you take another photo with the curtains out of the way?
We have ATRV windows in our van and the covers for the rollers clip off.

G'Day Mick,
The side and top frame is the same as the bottom that you can see.
I am not averse to having a go, but I certainly would rather benefit from someone else's mistakes if they have done it before.
From working on home blinds previously, these pretension-ed roll ups tend to have funny little mechanisms for retaining the correct tension, some are done with the brackets that hold them and others by ratchets. I believe this is what has happened with this window, somehow I have let the pretensioning out (like letting the smoke out of your wiring).

Muzz A mate of mine had similar issues with his caravan blinds and found that the manufacturer ceased to import the blinds from Spain ( ). What he found was that it was easy enough to un-screw the blind, however the plastic pre-tensioner on each blind was so flimsy that they broke as soon as he started to disassemble the blind. He ended up dealing direct with Camec to obtain a replacement blind/insect screen combo. That’s what my mate had to do !!! It might pay for you to have a look at the Camec site, or give them a call and see if they are able to help. I also believe one of the RV stores does a fairly good range of instructions on how to dis-mantle things in vans ... I think it’s name is Caravans Plus. Good luck.

Thanks Allan, I will look into their site.
As for taking it apart, I don't mind if there is something already broken in the mechanism, as it is already broken I am not making it worse.
These things are so flimsy that I reckon they are designed for the spare parts market with big price tags.
Would love to be able to make a replacement part out of ally or brass. Both metals are easy to work with.

Firstly a big thank you to Allan (Notathome), you were on the money.
Caravan plus had several tutorials on how to identify windows and I was able to find mine.
Mine are Mobicool which is the original (older) version of what became SEITZ and is now a DOMETIC branding.
Reading further on their site, there are no parts available as they are
Okay then, I will now see if I can find a Youtube video on these blinds as a guide for dismantling.
The journey continues.....

Muzz Glad to be able to help mate. Good luck on the digging. My mate ended up buying replacement blinds for all his windows as the repair option just didn’t work ... made to fail
