It seems repairs ain't easy as these vechicles a pretty new. So far I personaly feel as though it's all in the too hard basket. Especially in a rural setting.
https:Insurance claims for electric cars are an increasingly complicated issue – and experts are calling for better protocols to safeguard consumers.
“[After it was hit] the car went into collision avoidance mode and brought the vehicle to a stop, a couple of lights came on the dash, but there was no fire or anything … so we didn’t think there was too much damage. “We actually drove the vehicle shortly afterwards back to our house, but when we got it home we realised there was a lot more damage underneath that we didn’t first see… We decided we didn’t want to drive it again until it was tested and checked.” The couple, from a remote part of Central Queensland, proceeded to make an insurance claim – and that’s where the problems began. “[The car] sat beside our house for about six weeks while the insurer played a bit of cat and mouse,” Dan recalls. “Because of where we’re located we had a lot of trouble trying to find somebody who’d even look at the car – everyone I spoke to said they can’t do any of the testing. That’s when I realised it was going to be a bit of a headache.“ //www.msn.com/en-au/news/other/it-was-a-disaster-the-big-problem-with-electric-car-insurance-claims/ar-BB1kTHEh?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=6a79ef1b20794eac87f723c57e56dfe8&ei=16

And in today's paper, Car Dealerships expect to be passing on the cost of Fast Chargers (including Network Upgrades), plus new testing equipment onto customers.
Possibly , $130,000.00 in country areas
Hopefully they will not be passing this on to ICE Customers.

It's not just electric cars in remote areas
My son had the misfortune to crash his Ford ranger after a roo went under the front wheel and he lost control on a dirt road that had just been graded so the surface was very loose He was on his way to his property in the riverland near Swan Reach in SA about 40kn north of Mannum, so far from remote The insurance told him not to drive it from his block and that they would pick it up, it took 2 weeks for them to do that, another 4 weeks before the car was inspected and written off and another 4 weeks for the settlement So I can imagine how long it will be for that guy
