Having trouble cleaning your shower glass ? Our ensuite shower sprays water directly on to the shower door glass and gets a buildup of soap scum etc. The doors were new about 6 years ago and in this time I have tried just about every glass/shower cleaner available at the shops.
I have also tried all the vinegar mixes and bicarb mixes with no complete success. Googled the other day and found a new one -- cut a lemon in half, sprinkle salt on it and rub glass, yes it did work to some extent but not all scum came off.
Hmm, I am determined this time to get this glass clean, what about toothpaste ? headlights can be cleaned with this. I got a sponge, wet it and put some toothpaste on the sponge and started to rub an area first to see what happened, did not want to scratch glass. Bloody hell, fantastic, easy, washed off with water and dried glass, like new.
After years of trying everything else, the best cleaner was in the bathroom all the time. Try it.

Baz,
Toothpaste has contained a grinding agent for 100 years. Chalk is one source.
Not much of a substitute for valve grinding paste (used on car engines) but good for minimising scratches on plastics
When my wife gets back from shopping I'll ask what she uses on our shower.

My wife uses dish-washing liquid.
Her logic was that it removes grease and grime from dishes so it should do the same on the shower screen
