It is an issue that has been going on for a long time. There has been so much discussion in all form of media about this. I find it hard to believe these guys don’t know. I think they are just arrogant bar stewards that don’t give a rats. Then plead ignorance.

There was a discussion on a caravaning Facebook page last week about this, I can't believe the number of numbnuts saying "yes but" But there's no where close for us to park But why don't the servos cater for caravans But where are we supposed to stay But I don't want to pay for a caravan park for just a few hours sleep

I stop at the BP service centre at Morayfield often. Lately I have seen trucks parking in the caravan parking areas

Probably some sort of protest as in tit for tat but that usually leads to retaliation and perpetuation of the problem, just like a tricky blowing his horn when going past a freecamp at night, or caravaners blowing theirs going past a truck stop in the day

"Tricky" "Trucky"...shame there's so much ill feeling between us. One group is in holiday mode, the other is working and ne'r the twain shall meet.... I know we've discussed this before but I dont think there's any answer to the Agro displayed by some Truckies towards us Nomads. Camping in their rest areas is just one of the catalysts that generates their ire.

These big petrol stations often have a massive parking area for trucks and sometimes have a caravan parking area of say four to six spots but to find the caravan parking you need to be an expert navigator and then from my experience the caravan parking is taken up with cars.

Those bleedin' car drivers, you never see any of them towing caravans!

Yes maybe as others have posted I find you go to the caravan parking bays and not so trucks but cars on most occasions. Try and stop at the big road side servos on Pacific motorway at Wyong with a van.I parked amongst the trucks because cars had filled the caravan areas. Was carefully to park to the side out of the way but no other option.

We were at Chinderah Service Centre a few weeks ago. Pretty busy with lots of trucks. While there having lunch, there was a different message coming across the speaker every 5-10 mins asking vehicle with registration XXXXXX towing a caravan, could they move it from the truck parking area. We were lucky enough to get a spot in the caravan parking, but the other people without caravans thought this area was an overflow area for them.
