I have been doing some research on Space X Starlink internet for travelling into remote location. I was absolutely shocked at the number of satellites Musk has up in the sky about 5000 to date but more to come. satellitemap.space/I like the idea of a flat receiver that does not need setting up and the speed of the internet is about 100MB/s. As the satellites are only 500Kms out the speed of the internet is high. A one-month subscription for a mobile internet contract is $174/month but I think you can just purchase in one-month intervals. Still a bit pricey and to buy the equipment is not cheap. Has anyone got the Starlink system? JR

Yes Jr I have one on my home.If you use it at home like I do I only pay 139 per month for unlimited and the extra 20 if I go mobile. I also have a two meter pole with two vacuum devices to mount on the side of the van which has a though plug which i plug into from both sides ,one to the dish on the pole and the other to the modern in the van.Works great,I just got back from a trip to Port Lincoln to the sunny coast and so many people were using them now. When you leave home you just press stow on the app which controls the Starlink system and when you want to use it you connect up and tell it to set up and in ten minutes it does its thing and your in business, you can connect your mobile phone though wireless calling and ring from any where in Australia no need gor a satellite phone plus with unlimited data you can talk away or stream TV or what ever.It even will melt snow if it snows where you are and you can turn that feature off.The only thing is that want sell to you for domestic use if you live in a city.

Thanks for your reply Peter, I have notice the portable Starlink receiver starting to be more common and did not know what it was all about until I started to do some research. I do like the flat receiver mounted on the van roof, they do seem to use a bit more power to run and you still need not to camp under trees which I try to avoid so my solar works. So, the receiver can run on 12V and it sends a signal to a Modem Receiver and it transmits a broadband signal which your smart TV or computer or phone receives, would that be correct? JR
