My first tablet was a gen 1 iPad, that I still use occasionally. I also have Samsung tablets using Android system that I find better. Anyway, the iPad, being gen 1 can only use iOS 9.3.5 and won't upgrade to anything later. I have been trying to update my Apply ID account, in particular the payment method, but while I can get to the account page, when I click on the 'manage payments' section it opens a new window but just sits there loading, forever. It will not open the manage payments properly.
Can anyone suggest how to fix this. I have logged out and signed in again several times, turned off the device and restarted, all to no avail. Help please.

Thanks for the suggest, Jeff, but nothing. I have never used it before, but when I bring up the page I get this. If I try to click on the symbol or the 3 dots, nothing happens.

Bugger. I just tried it on my iPhone 6 using 12.5.7 as I can’t get any later than that with the phone. I got the iCloud sign in page on it. Strange you are not getting the page to open at all. How about this www.apple.com/au/ and select support then community and ask your question on there. I’ve used them a couple of times and they have been helpful.

I'm not an iphone or ipad person, but I recently cracked and reset a couple of old ipads that belong to the daughter because she'd forgotten her passwords. I found that nothing in the itunes or app store would work. It just tells you the app won't run on the device as the operating system is too old. She ended up binning them.

Yes my suggestion would be bin it and save the agro because that's all you get with un supported it in my experience. We have an I pad a bit more modern than your model and on the missus's say so and it was hers bin it and she now uses a late model Samsung Phone which she finds easier to use and does most things she needs.

It is possible that due to the age of your iPad that it is no longer supported by Apple. I had to upgrade my IPad because the apps I was using would no longer work with the old operating

Going back to my original post, and the suggestion by Jeff. Now, this is the silly thing. I tried going to iCloud.com on my ANDROID tablet, and all good. I was able to login, change my payment details and some other details and all accepted. Yet to go back to the iPad to try and do what I was intending to do in the beginning, namely, download an ebook.
