I've not done any research on this topic so off the top of my head...
I have used Google's Chrome for yonks but have become annoyed about it tracking my every move so gave it the flick.
I have tried Chrome, Firefox, Opera, DuckDuckGo, TOR network, MS Edge and Brave.
I like DuckDuckGo but as a compromise on all things I presently favour Brave. It is simple, small, fast, ad blocking and does not keep tabs on my life and report same to marketing people.
If you feel violated by Chrome purely for its commercial data gathering perhaps consider this... download.cnet.com/news/brave-browser-review-the-chrome-alternative-that-supports-extensions-and-takes-an-unusual-path-to/

I have been using brave for a while, it does most things, I have had a couple of times it will not work for me. I think I am missing a plug in to fix this. I just used firefox to get around the problem.

This topic was meant to be less about ones preferred browser and more about the privacy threat of Chrome.
Chrome was my much preferred browser ever since it appeared but now it knows too much about me and my movements. I don't want unsolicted adverts shoved in my face just because Chrome remembers that last week I was searching for a bench grinder or engine oil.
