Clancy has made me a Admin on this site to help get it all sorted and make it more user friendly.
A few things I have added are:
2 arrows in the right hand column allow fast to the top and bottom of the page you are on.
Add image to post: Is a offsite server that adds your photo's as a clickable thumbnail.
Limited edit and delete times on posts to 20 minutes.
1 new board for tech posts, with 2 sub boards for electrical posts and a self build sub board.
I have enlarged the font to make it easier to read for our older eyes.
More things will be added or changed as time goes on.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks Mick Why the time out on the edit? Can wer have extra "emoticons" you know the ones I mean? Frank you like all of us has seen how a long thread can be made senseless by somebody getting their nose out of joint and either deleting their posts or editing them. There is a 20 minute window to edit mainly so spelling corrections can be made. As for the other emotions? That may happen at a later date.

Congrats er commiserations Mick. Can we have a Humour Thread please? Is there a link to take you to the first Unread reply once you are in a thread? As a suggestion, in the long term we will probably need a board for Touring/Trip Planning with Sub Boards by state. And may I make a bold request for a General Chat name change to maybe 'OT's Fire side Chat' Cheers

Clancy has made me a Admin on this site to help get it all sorted and make it more user friendly. Morning Mungrel,
I too have joined the fray to assist keeping a tight rein on Frank and I see you have done a lot of housekeeping already.
This proboard website has blossomed overnight. You are not just a pretty face Mungrel
I think it is OK now to admit that I was called upon as a Techo to find an emergency place where members could at least be kept informed of unfolding events at the old forum. Initially I searched for some sort of simple public noticeboard. I even thought about using my own website as a temporary measure contact point.
Eventually I came across proboards and despite my reasonable familiarity with phpBB the proboards site was so different it was a bit of work setting up the bare bones for Clancy. It is triffik Mick that you have offered to use your Travellers Chat site skills to put a lot of meat on those early bare bones. It is now looking like a proper forum
It is great to see many of the old gang have also made it to this site.
As much as I appreciate the dedication and extreme efforts of Clancy in what has been achieved so far I still worry that the vast repository that was the old forum may not see the light of day again. Reading between the lines of comments made I gather that the problem is less technical and more political. Will the old forum owners play hard ball? Do they want money? Will spite be a factor? It seems like we won't know for a few weeks
In the meantime let's make the best of what we have here as it may become the permanent replacement.

Thanks Mick and OT for your efforts.Wringing hands has never paid off for the hand wringer, and positive action you have definitely taken. I have replies to Clancy re on questions he asked of me as to how come I almost joined up twice. The truth is what ever I did I could not get off the guest list. Well don and thanks to all who made the hard moves.
"So I kept trying and could not get past the crappy id system where you have to prove you are not a robot. This mind numbing thing said ok, and then didn't work at all well. Sorry to make you a recipient of all my sad skills...... " Any way I might have eventually got on board.

Thanks OT, when I set up Travellers Chat back in 2011 I too looked at what was available in the free forum sites and set up a couple of different sites and played with them and found Pro BoardsV4 to be the most user friendly out of the 3 I played with. If you had seen TC when I 1st opened it up, I can tell you it was a rouff as gutz lol

I like the thumbs up sign it gives you an idea about if people actually read your comments and my spellchecker works too.

But I feel that using a current members name is wrong. Those honours tend to be post mortem

Muzz,
Thank you for the suggestion but if that was done I just couldn't cope and would have to leave.
Mick,
Twice now I have tried to use 'quote' but edit out (remove) the included quote and it makes a mess of things and I have to switch to BBCode to try and manually correct it. Have you struck this?

Mick, I am very happy you have taken on my suggestions. Thank you for being so diligent. The Fireside Chat title is fine by me and I believe everyone knows what that is about. However keep it in mind that if you want to get rid of OT, we now know how! Maybe we can start a poll to change it to OT's Fireside Chat

I actually welcome a line being drawn under under old topics from the other site. Starting afresh, hopefully with enthusiasm for talking about places visited, I find interesting, rather than been there done that, is what I’m looking for. For example, the wife and I are heading up to Burrum Heads in a few weeks and would welcome any fishing tips, places of interest etc. Will have to settle for one of the “lesser” sites as those Mexicans have already taken the prime beachside sites 👹 Oh well, that’s life...and as Tony Beets on Goldrush says.....sucks to be you 😁 Whinge over. Cheers Rob
