Even the auto industry has adapted to this procedure......
Once upon a time (1930's to '50's) all cars had a start button (or pedal) but you had to turn them off with a key. 🤔

Had a 64 mini like that, turn the key, push the button on the floor to start Turn the key to switch off
The younger ones think it's new tech

Morris Minors and many other vehicles had the starter solenoid under the bonnet. Yep, just a button press and sometimes they started.
