PD,
Did you want any of your details edited out?
As you know, the scammers immediate giveaway is their stupid email address.
The smarter ones at least create an email that resembles their subject.

PD,
I too just received a PayPal notice...
Screen grab...
I didn't click on the attached PDF file in case it was malicious.
Mine was addressed to my old Medibank email address that I continue to monitor out of curiosity.
As I keep flogging to death... I have hundreds of dedicated email addresses and by that means I know how spammers/scammers find me and I can take specific targeted action.
Do you use that email you posted for other services, like Medibank or other known hacked sites/services?

Did you want any of your details edited out? Yes thanks, I note I left my gmail address intact. I don't see any identifying thing in the attachment however.

I didn't click on the attached PDF file in case it was malicious. I open those attachments in a "new private window"

At the risk of more flogging...
I quite understand how most are not interested in their own domain name with 'no limit' email addresses but there are obvious other ways.
Your own domain costs around $190/year to have hosted but there are heaps of free email services.
Despite having several Gmail email accounts I don't like Gmail but it is a commonly used service. There is no reason why you too could not have several.
Let's say your Gmail address was fredbloggs@gmail.com then why not create several more of the same style but with a suffix?
fredbloggs1@gmail.com fredbloggs2@gmail.com etc or be more specific...
fredbloggsanz@gmail.com (bank)
fredbloggsmb@gmail.com (medibank)
fredbloggssubs@gmail.com (various subscriptions) etc.
All of your auxiliary Gmail accounts can be forwarded to your primary fredbloggs@gmail.com so that you only have to read a single Gmail account.
