Ken, I am having problems with your terminology, are you really being asked to prove you are human by being presented with things like CAPTCHA? Alternately are you suffering with frustration as the result of finger problems with your computer? If you are occasionally being asked to log on when you attempt to access this forum I suggest it is the latter.
I sometimes lose the auto logon in my programs or newsgroups it is the result of something I have done. Sometimes it is because I have allowed the computer to receive system or programme updates. These reset things that disable the auto log-ons. However, most of the time it is because I have been cleaning things up or doing other fiddling things. First things first, have you fully updated your computer with the latest system upgrades for both the operating system and all the relevant programmes (call them apps if you prefer.) Then take note of all the things that you play with on your computer and see if you lose the auto log-ons afterwards.
No, its not that. I can log on OK, in fact I'm not asked for a password most times, even though I regularly clear log on history. It happens when I attempt to comment on something and the message comes up. If it happens again, I'll take a screen shot. I've never seen it on other forums.

It just happened as I sent the above answer. "acmctf.proboards.com verify you are human. cloudfare acmctf.proboards.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding." there is a box before the "verify you are human" bit which requires a tick.

"acmctf.proboards.com verify you are human. cloudfare acmctf.proboards.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding." there is a box before the "verify you are human" bit which requires a tick. That is the information we require rather than the flippant info in your OP. If we had that earlier we would have been able to get to your problem quicker. As I recall from a previous post you said "I use my iMac with Safari as the browser." -
I don't think you have a problem with the operating system so that leaves your Safari as the most probable source of your problem. I know little when it comes to Apple systems, is there anyone out there who can assist?
When you are accessing pages from the web, your browser exchanges information with the remote server including certificates. If the remote server is not getting the info it expects then it reply with a fault message or query you like you have just experienced. I suggest there is some info in your Safari that has been corrupted. With my Win 11 system I would be checking through the settings in my browser (Firefox in my case.) If I could not sort them out I would be doing a re-installation of my Firefox. One of the problems with Windows is when you uninstall a programme the system retains the programme settings so that the programme will get up and run quickly if you reinstall it. If you wish to do a clean install you need to find a way of doing a complete uninstall that removes all remnants of the programme. I'm not sure if the same things apply with Apple products. Is there anyone out there that can help?

Which country does your VPN connect to? I know that CF is in the same situation, in their case, only Australian addresses can access the forum. This is to stop most of the problems that come from other countries. Looks like OT may have done the same thing with this forum. If you redirect your VPN to an Australasian outlet rather than an overseas outlet you may then be able to access this forum through your VPN.

PD,
There are no such Admin levers that I'm aware of.
I've struck the odd Oz website that demands an Oz presence before allowing connection, but never here for me.
My VPN activates on boot-up but defaults to Melbourne. Just now I tried connecting to the USA and then to South Africa and neither made any difference to my ability to connect and log-in here.
I tested with Opera and Firefox by logging-out, closed the browsers, then logged-in again no probs.
I confirmed that CF would not let me in.

Another good theory busted. We will have to look elsewhere for Graham's problem.
I'm starting tho believe that Apple systems may be better for graphical applications but for general computing, stick to PC style computers.

I have the occasional issue of being asked if I am human, simple fix is just a click then all ok
I also get locked out (forbidden 1008) which means that I have to shut down an update to get back in.
